This archive footage was brought to my attention recently of Portsmouth FC winning the 1939 FA Cup at Wembley. 100,000 people made up the crowd to see underdogs Portsmouth overcome Wolverhampton Wanderers 4-1. The commentator is everything you’d expect from that era with the best reference to the Wolves goalkeeper being ‘as busy as a flea at a party’. John Motson eat your heart out. Whether a fan of the team or just being interested in Portsmouth history, this is a great little find.

The 3rd Pompey goal is so awesome, haha. Just kick it out of the keepers’ hands 🙂
