Cascades 1989 Opening Leaflet

Cascades 1989 Opening Leaflet

Jonathan Ring found this amazing leaflet that was given out on the day that Cascades opened back in 1989. A really interesting little artifact, look how young Fern Britton is! Expect more gems from Jonathan as he and his brother go through their grandparents archive of local photos and items.

Who is Janathan? – Thanks for posting! I also miss the food court, although I was only a child, it was a good treat to have chips in there.

When I find myself in The Cascades I always look about to see where I would hide in case of a zombie invasion. They love their shopping precincts. Fact.

I remember the TV advert had my granddad going up the escalator looking absolutely bewildered by it all. I wondere whether he was think about hiding places from zombies too.

In Cascades, They Can’t Hear You Scream! I imagine the zombies, when they come to Cascades, will be some kind of mutoid chav-pigeon mash up.

In the event of this dystopian fleshfest Cascades will prove to ruin all your escape plans by having moved a wall or two and closed off a thoroughfare. Maybe it’s the building itself we should be scared of.
