St. Peter’s Theatre in Southsea was first established in 1924 and has become an important theatre to it’s local community. The theatre is used for performances by several local amateur companies and a Theatre School and is located on the upper level of the building. There is also a lower hall with further rooms available for rehearsals. Seating approximately 200, this is one of only about six amateur venues in the country with flying facilities for scenery, the theatre has also recently being refurbished.
Despite all of this it seems the future of the theatre is sadly in question, in a bid to highlight the theatre’s importance in it’s community an online petition has been set up. You can put our name down by clicking on the link below. You can find out more about the theatre at stpeterstheatre.webs.com.
