At 7pm this saturday evening our friends at Pie & Vinyl present Karin Park performing live.

“It’s a real big deal that Karin is playing our little shop – it’s a great chance for people to come down and hear her, meet her and walk away with a signed album before she is huge!” says co-owner Steve.

Karin is signed to Portsmouth label ‘State Of The Eye Records’. The whole thing has been two years in the making, with Jeff Powell (label owner) and Karin meeting on the internet.

Karin’s music is a midway point between the forward thinking pop music of Robyn and the claustrophobic sound of Fever Ray. You can’t help but hear elements of Bjork in her vocal, which is a really great thing. She successfully pushes forward the Scandinavian electro pop that is thriving at present (and had done for a while since the knife broke on to the scene).
