Keep The Pound In Pompey – Shoal

While trying to think of something interesting and original to get my lovely mother for her birthday, I remembered I had recently noticed Shoal had opened along Albert Road. When I came in I was welcomed by co-owner Michelle Martin, she runs the shop with Anna Martin.

They have done a superb job with the layout and design of the shop, the light walls show off the colourful work which is for sale.

Everything sold in Shoal is made in the UK, usually locally. Co-owner Michelle says “We support small local traders and many of our items are one of a kind. Along with our main display area we also have exhibition space for local artists, so you can happily browse at your leisure.”

Shoal features local artist Peter Levy, Colin Baxter, Emma Toman, Michelle Martin, Alan Smith, Port and Lemon and Federica Bianchini.

You can find out more information and to see other products in stock by visiting the website. You can keep up to date with with Shoal on Twitter and Facebook.

The population of Southsea are always supportive to new, creative and independent businesses. Shoal Seaside Living is located at 170 Albert Road, Southsea, PO4 0JT. I thoroughly recommend you take your time to have a look around and what Anna and Michelle have created.
