Rolling Stones Exhibition At Portsmouth Guildhall

Portsmouth Guildhall is joining forces with the O2 British Music Experience to present a Rolling Stones exhibition as part of their new exhibition space ‘Access All Areas’.

Photographer Jim Marshall presents intimate shots of the band in the studio, to unbelievable glimpses of the backstage parties and iconic onstage images. The exhibition is packed with never-before-seen material and offers a sterling look at one of the most inspirational bands of all time.

Dave Brolan, who has curated the exhibition at the British Music Experience museum at the O2 in London and who will also be curating Access All Areas Portsmouth, said: “Jim was granted exceptional access to the Stones. He is regarded as the most important rock photographer, most of his archive is unique and he was often the only photographer present, at the Stones’ recording session in the show.”

The exhibition is co-curated by Portsmouth Guildhall’s curator Simon Poole and will be open weekdays 9am – 5pm as well as before and during shows between 15th August 2013 until 2nd November 2013. Tickets are £2 or £1 when bought with concert tickets. Family tickets available at £4 for a family of x 4. For more information please visit portsmouthguildhall.org.uk.
