Friday lunchtime and we have a new Strong Island Sounds podcast episode and Charlie is back with episode 8 of Longlive Radio. This week Charlie has taken a look at one of the last great truly independent record labels, Creation. Though there’s none here today, Creation was most famously home to Oasis. However, they also put out records from many British bands that helped define a generation, particularly through the heady days of Britpop. Alan McGee was always ready to take a risk, sometimes with dire results, sometimes, as reflected here, with a keen ear and a touch of genius. There’s also cuts from Dusty Springfield, Beck and M.I.A.
You can download the podcast via iTunes or listen online by clicking below. It is taking a little while for iTunes to refresh with the new episode but if you subscribe to the podcast with iTunes you’ll automatically download the latest episode as soon as they are released. We only keep 3-4 episodes up at a time so be sure to download them if you want to listen to older episodes in the future.
Check the Strong Island Sounds section of the homepage just under the comments, we have the latest episode on there at all times and will be soon adding a new section to the website with previous issues, etc.
