Road To Blissfields Preview #2 The Family

This Friday the Road To Blissfields competition returns to Portsmouth. There is a slight difference to the format this year, the competition has been expanded to the whole of Hampshire with the heats branching out even further across England.

The competing for the chance to perform at Blissfields are Dutch Criminal Record, The Family, Duveax, Jack Grace, Just Millie and not to forget there will be a special performance by Portsmouth’s own Big Child Man Child.

The second in our Road To Blissfields Previews we are featuring The Family. The band are Brad Weeks (vocals and harmonica), Ash Weeks (vocals and guitar), Aidan Lavin (bass), Mick Mathieson (drums and vocals) and Hag (pedal steel, piano and guitar).

The band are celebrating a decade together and describe their sound as alternative country/rock n roll. The band cite their big influences as Bob Dylan, The Beach Boys, Dolly Parton, Velvet Underground, Crosby Stills and Nash, and Neil Young. I’m looking forward to to seeing what the guys have to offer as this will be the first country inspired band we’ve had competing.

You can find out more about The Family by checking out their Facebook, Twitter @TheFamilyUK and SoundCloud accounts.
