British Cycling’s Breeze is the biggest ever programme to inspire more women to cycle for fun, friends and fitness. The aim is to encourage thousands of women to feel more confident riding their bikes, and to challenge women to take their cycling further. The popularity of women’s cycling in the UK is increasing, though there are still more men out riding than women. Breeze is changing this, one ride at a time.
British Cycling’s amazing volunteer Breeze champions make the programme what it is. These local women from all walks of life organise bike rides in the Portsmouth area all year round, encouraging and inspiring women to get involved. Rides vary from ‘easy-going’ to ‘challenging’, and are friendly, sociable and progress at a pace everybody can enjoy. The rides cater for those looking to build confidence on a bike and those looking to take on longer distances in a supportive group environment.
There a number of Breeze rides taking place around Portsmouth during October and November so take advantage of the autumnal sunshine and join the Breeze girls for a flat beach ride along Southsea seafront or a quiet amble through the Hampshire countryside.
