This Saturday sees the opening of Play Dead‘s latest exhibition: Dead Gorgeous by stencil artist and gallery technician Nova. Working out of his studio/lounge in Shawford, Nova is constantly testing the patience of a long suffering girlfriend, Kirsty, as he spends his time carefully cutting holes into paper, “I don’t know why I’m compelled to spend days, weeks, months covered in tiny pieces of paper as much as I don’t know why everyone else isn’t.”
The Dead Gorgeous exhibition is an aesthetic indulgence, riffing off the 27 club theme, beautiful and inspiring people that were taken before their time. The exhibition will feature a variety of different work and you should already notice the Play Dead mural wall is already painted up ready for Saturday’s private view, happening from 7pm to 9pm. As always, expect to meet the artist, grab a free beer or two and even pick up some free art goodies too.
