This evening sees the Great Southsea Bake Off at Wild Thyme Wholefoods in Southsea, a vegan cake competition on Monday 10th October from 6pm to 9pm. The only criteria for entering being that your cake must be both GLUTEN-FREE and VEGAN. Bring your cake creations down to Wild Thyme to be in with a chance to win one of three prizes; a hamper of Wild Thyme goodies, a lunch for two at Southsea Coffee or a block of 5 yoga classes with Portsmouth Yoga.
Your skills will be taste tested by their panel of three judges: Tara Knight (behind Southsea’s renowned Ginger and Peach cakes, and co-owner of Southsea Coffee), Lucy Barlow (founder of Portsmouth Yoga) and Lianne Hickman (Wild Thyme member).
Your cakes will also be sold at the event to raise money for Tonic Music for Mental Health, a local charity that provides an invaluable service to the community. Tonic are just setting up their studio on Highland Road, and they need all the help they can get to get up and running.
All entrants will go away with a 10% off voucher and you can, of course, just come and eat cake, no need to bake.
