Portsmouth Festivities Opens 2017’s Community Programme

2017 marks the eighteenth anniversary of the local creative and cultural festival Portsmouth Festivities. The Festival has been growing since it was first conceived and each year has more and more events and activities to get involved with. A new Community Programme for Portsmouth Festivities was introduced in 2014, and has become a great success every year with the events being well received.

Each year, the Festivities celebrates the best of Portsmouth and offer creative individuals and organisations the chance to showcase their work. There were many successful applicants to last year’s Festivities, including Little Duck Forge and Tongues and Grooves.

Portsmouth Festivities is now calling for organisations and individuals from the local community to apply to put on an event as part of Portsmouth Festivities 2017. This is a fantastic chance to showcase new and existing talent within a Festival framework. The theme for next year’s Festival is PLAY. This does not mean that every application has to hold this theme as this would be unrealistic, but if it does then it could definitely guarantee some playful entertainment to Festivities’ audience.

Portsmouth Festivities 2017 will run between Friday 16th and Sunday 25th June. If you would like to propose an event, contact the Festivities team at info@portsmouthfestivities.co.uk or visit www.portsmouthfestivities.co.uk/get-involved#take-part to download full terms and conditions and an application form.

Deadline for entries is midday Thursday 8th December.
