DVMISSION 48-Hour Film Challenge 2017 Now Accepting Teams

DVMISSION 48-Hour Film Challenge is a real Portsmouth institution with the competition always hugely popular with teams from all over the south of England and even further afield getting involved. For over 10 years DVMISSION challenges the teams to use given key pieces of information like a film genre and line of dialogue before them setting out for a weekend of filming and editing. The competition ends with a film screening and awards evening bringing everyone together to celebrate the best (and sometimes the weirdest) of the short films created during the challenge.

After a stunning retrospective event as part of the recent Southampton Film Week DVMISSION have now opened their doors to new challengers and new challenges. The event has shifted to a new time of the year to accommodate all the hundreds of local film festivals that now happen in the region in November. So March will be the new home and the light will be better so you can start shooting early and finish later.

DVMISSION also have a new process for managing the challenge and working with their partners Filmfreeway that will help streamline the application and submission part of the challenge with it all online. To submit your team go to the DVMISSION Filmfreeway and sign up.

The dates for the 2017 challenge weekend is now Friday 10th March to Sunday 12th March and the premier night, DVMISSION LIVE 2017, a glittering gala event, screening and awards ceremony will run on Saturday 18th March 2017 at The Wedgewood Rooms, Albert Road, Portsmouth.

Everything you need to know about the event is all on the DVMISSION website:
