This weekend the White Dog Gallery are opening their exhibition ‘Drawn to Nature,’ which will showcase three extremely talented artists, Clive Meredith, Julia Pankhurst and Kevin Hayward. All of which create almost photo real images of animals in their own unique style.
“We are lucky to be able to work with these very talented artists on a regular basis and are delighted to collaborate with the Gosport Gallery to bring their work to a wider audience. Each artist has their own distinctive style, yet they come together under the umbrella of nature, providing a stunning exhibition.”
Rick Steenhuis, owner of White Dog Gallery.
Clive Meredith, working mainly in oils or pencil, is noted for his exceptional realism. He spends many hours in the field observing and photographing wildlife in their natural habitat and environment ensuring his paintings have a meticulous attention to detail. Clive has exhibited at the prestigious Mall Galleries, London and was awarded Wildlife Artist of the Year 2010 by Wildscape Magazine.
Julia Pankhurst is a lifelong artist who spent much of her younger years drawing portraits in high streets. In 2010 she turned her hand to painting maritime and seascapes and has created many atmospheric pictures using the local coastline as inspiration. Julia also has a series of cow paintings which are now highly collectible.
Kevin Hayward began drawing at school and hasn’t stopped! He is a self-taught artist with a style likened to photo realism. Kevin draws inspiration from the natural world and, working only in graphite, loves the depth and definition that can be achieved with a good set of sharp pencils. Kevin works on commissions many of which are for specific charities.
All three artists will be on hand at the gallery on different weekends to meet visitors, discuss their artwork and answer questions on their paintings and drawings. The exhibition will run from 18th March – 29th April.
