Portsmouth has an incredibly strong, diverse and inspiring community of photographers, with people working on anything from street photography to capturing the shoreline & beach to portraiture to abstract art and so much more. Strong Island itself has always wanted to share this local talent via our Created Local articles…it is close to our heart as Tris & myself are both photographers too.

A thankfully resurgent element of photography at the moment is the use of analogue cameras and film. Much like vinyl, this more hands on format not only fundamentally changes up how you shoot your photos but also creates a visual aesthetic and warmth that digital still can’t quite replicate. Local photographers are out shooting with 35mm, medium format and even large format, ensuring a vital creative aspect of photography lives on.
