Physiotherapy, Sports Therapy and Sports Massage at SWEAT

I’ve never had a sports massage before, but a long-standing exercise injury, made worse by work and day to day stresses on my shoulder, led me to organise a 30 minute therapy session with Hollie.

My experience with Hollie and the SWEAT Southsea team was a wholly positive one. I found her to be extremely friendly, professional and most importantly, knowledgeable about the human body. Hollie is clearly very passionate about sports rehabilitation and that really came across during our short time together. I discovered that Hollie graduated in Sports Therapy from the University of Chichester and that her studies allowed her to get to the root of issues, and not just alleviate them.

Hollie took the time to listen to my particular concerns before she started the massage and explained to me in full what she would be doing. Hollie spent the majority of her time working on my shoulder but also paid attention to other key areas such as my neck and lower back, making for a really thorough approach.

She made me feel extremely comfortable from the moment I entered the rehabilitation room and made measures to protect my privacy and dignity throughout the session. Hollie provided me with useful information and tips on how to protect my shoulder in the future and suggested exercises I could do to ensure that the positive effects of the massage would be long-lived.

When the session was over I felt a significant improvement in the range and motion of my shoulder and this has been evidenced by my recent return to regular exercise; something that I have been avoiding since the onset of my injury. For anyone with a sports or exercise related injury, I would strongly recommend a visit to Sweat and in particular, to Hollie who with her magic hands has really helped to reignite my interest in working out!

As well as offering sports massage, SWEAT has a functional gym which is dedicated to injury rehabilitation, Pilates and personal training meaning no crowds or membership fees. SWEAT also hosts bespoke group classes including Pilates, Barre, TRX and Circuits which are available on a pay-as-you-go or membership basis.
