Red Cross Week runs from May 6th to the 12th and the British Red Cross in Portsmouth with Emily Priest have organised Unity in the City, an awesome event celebrating the positive connections between people/communities within the city on the 10th May at The Loft in Albert Road.
Unity in the City is a fundraising event will see songwriters, performers, storytellers and rappers from different cultures across Portsmouth, come together with one goal in mind – to celebrate togetherness and inclusivity in Portsmouth. Acts include rap duo Naan Breddaz, drum troupe Drumnation, poet Donna Jones MBE and Panthalassa who will be performing a special acoustic set.
There will also be an opportunity for you to join them on the stage during the open mic segment. From music to poetry all are welcome to get involved to celebrate ‘unity in the city’. A raffle will also take place and all money raised on the night will be donated to the Red Cross and support their services included their valuable help towards the local refugee community.
Entrance is only £3 and for open mic please register between 6.00pm and 7.00pm.
