With another bank holiday looming, Civilisation of the Rough are back at Lord John Russells this coming Sunday evening with Heavy Disco‘s Ashley Beedle & Dave Jarvis.
Ashley was a founding member of the group X-Press 2, with fellow DJs Rocky and Diesel performing on six decks and three CDJ players. They charted at #2 in the UK Top 40 with their global hit ‘Lazy‘, their collaboration with Talking Heads’ David Byrne which earnt Ashley an Ivor Novello award.
Over the years, Dave has worked for the major players in the music industry – Sony, EMI, Ministry of Sound, Pinnacle and Demon to name but a few. Following on from the enormously successful joint compilation for Sony called Happy Days with Boy’s Own founder, Terry Farley, Dave has continued to release wonderful music for the past 20 years via his Moton label that he started with Diesel from X-press 2.
Dave’s signature DJ style embraces his love of everything eclectic – from his own personal edits to forgotten floor fillers as long as they fulfil the Heavy Disco motto – Remember, Heavy Makes You Happy.
Heavy Disco was founded by Ashley Beedle, Dave Jarvis + Diesel over a decade ago. There was the first compilation album The Trials and Tribulations of Heavy Disco in 2012 and the one-off parties have achieved ‘legendary nights’ status too many to mention. The Heavy Disco motto is simple – Remember, Heavy Makes You Happy.
