‘Not Waving but Drowning’ Poetry Performance & Film Event at The Loft

This Thursday (27th April 27th) sees the The Front Room present an innovative event ‘Not Waving but Drowning’ at The Loft on Albert Road in Southsea. Poetry and Live Performance continues to break new ground with the use of film as an additional performance element and this event will be showcasing and presenting some of the best exponents of the format alongside up and coming artists. The venue itself will be transformed with projections and decor by Dr Lighthouse, Hannah Prowse and Kate McNally. On the night presentations will be from the following:

– Bristol based Elephants Footprint (aka Chaucer Cameron and Helen Dewbery)
– Maggie Sawkins
– Matt Parsons
– The Vulture is a Patient Bird (Los Dave ,Rusty Sheriff and Matt Chuter)
– Jidos Reality with Jenna Lions
– Richard Williams (with Jenna)
– Isabelle Bilton
– Craig Maskell
– Sam Mason-Bell

The night will be compered by local writer Matt Wingett and there will also be a short Q & A on the nature of poetry and film by Elephants Footprint at around 10.00pm.

‘Not Waving but Drowning’ starts from 7.00pm and finishes at approximately 10.15pm and tickets are £6, and only £5 for concession. You can find out more details on Facebook.
