Beats & Swing Present: Mr Scruff

MR SCRUFF TAKES OVER THE WEDGEWOOD ROOMS FOR AN EPIC 5 HOUR SET!

Our friends over at Beats & Swing have just announced that their next special guest is going to be Andrew Carthy, better known as Mr Scruff. He will be taking over The Wedgewood Rooms on 27th January for a monster five hour set.

It was about fifteen years ago that first caught one of Mr Scruff’s marathon DJ sets at Brighton’s Concorde 2. I turned up at what must have been around 9pm expecting to someone warming up for him but no, he was there playing all night with three decks going. With a career spanning over twenty years, Mr Scruff may not be a household name but he is still considered one of the most relevant.

You can expect to hear funk, soul, disco, house, breakbeat and hip hop mixed in with his own tracks. Many of his shows have been made available on his YouTube and Soundcloud page so you can get a feel of what to expect.
