Preview: Newton Faulkner’s Best Of Tour

Over ten years ago, Newton Faulker stormed the charts with his debut album Hand Built by Robots. Now, he’s back with his seventh album and that storm has done anything but calm down. In fact, it is raging on harder and better than before.

With the release of his latest album The Very Best of Newton Faulkner…So Far Faulkner has announced his biggest tour yet including venues such as the Bournemouth O2 Academy on the 22nd April.

With over 180 million streams and 1.5 million records sold under his belt, Newton Faulkner is one of the UK’s leading singer-songwriters and this tour and album shines light on that. The Very Best of Newton Faulkner…So Far includes 31 tracks with new and old songs and covers such as Teardrop, Bohemian Rhapsody and even a rendition of SpongeBob SquarePants. A range of instruments are used too from a piano to a melodica and of course his signature acoustic guitar. Not only did Faulkner play all the music himself, he also produced and programmed the album independently too and I hope to see a bit of this DIY spirit and musical diversity on tour.

Old and new fans can expect nothing short of satisfaction when they see Faulkner live. Not only will he be playing classics and covers but songs no one has heard him perform before too. If you have never listened to him or know his songs off by heart, you need to go to one of his gigs. Seeing Newton play in person is an unmissable experience and is the perfect companion to his latest album.

If you find yourself free on the 22nd April or are looking to chase away the winter blues, don’t hide from the storm. Go out and enjoy it, dance in the rain and book tickets here: www.seetickets.com and www.newtonfaulkner.com.
